Our team is at the core of everything we do. We deeply care about it. So much so that we speak about our values, culture, work atmosphere and how we work together every time we meet. Genuinely caring about our team also means that we hire slowly and take time for detailed processes in which every candidate can get to know us as well as for us to get to know the candidate. On this page, you can get a glance into what working at Sonic is like, and if you are inspired, we would be excited to hear from you.

Working at Sonic & what we believe in

Living values

Building a positive culture means defining the values that are important to us and living them at Sonic at all times. Our goal is to create the best culture possible as much as it is working on the most excellent products, which we have made a core focus from the very beginning of building our team. We celebrate the values of positivity, respect, honesty, transparency, openness and continuous learning. Together, we are creating a workplace that we truly enjoy.

Beautifully crafted products

The quality of truly great products inspires us. We believe that great products can put smiles on people’s faces and whatever product we work on, this is our north star. Every week, we get together with the whole team to review the product progress we are making and to speak in detail about how we could achieve higher quality. We learn from and with each other and whatever we are working on gets better along the way.

Remote-first with an in-person catch

At Sonic, we believe in a remote-first setup. We always look for the most talented people, no matter where they live. We strive to give our team the flexibility they need to structure their working schedule in whatever way works best for them. With the transparency lived at Sonic, our strategy is accessible to everybody and we talk about the company outlook, vision and strategy every two weeks with everyone. Thus, this remote-first setup has proven to reduce distractions and fuel the outstanding execution that we take pride in.

Nonetheless, we believe that truly deep and long-lasting connections can only be built with time spent in person. That is why we purposefully take dedicated time to meet with the whole team during off-sites and craft experiences that foster relationships within the team.

Creating experiences together

While we value the flexibility and freedom of a remote-first setting, we love spending time together in person, creating remarkable experiences and strengthening our relationships. That is why we have Sonic trips together at least every quarter! We use them to discuss our company culture, dive deep into the creative aspects of our work, and, most importantly, discover awesome cities together.
